1st Lt. Robert W. Lancaster
 
1st Lt. Robert W. Lancaster, of Albion Road, Lincoln, RI, was killed in action on August 21, 1970. He requested duty in Vietnam and arrived in country earlier in the year.

Born October 15, 1945, Robert attended Moses Brown High School and Brown University. Upon graduation from Brown, he enlisted in the Army and was stationed in Germany, where he received a direct commission as an Officer.

His medals include: The Bronze Star, The Purple Heart, Military Merit, National Defense U.S., Vietnam, and the Vietnam Medal.

The Blackstone River bridge is dedicated to 1st Lt. Lancaster. Our thanks to the Manville American Legion for their efforts.
